(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relation, known as CAIR, is angry about speakers coming to an event at the State Capitol Friday.CAIR director Adam Soltani tells us the Counter-terrorism Caucus of the Oklahoma Legislature is hosting a seminar with CLEET-related speakers, of which CAIR opposes.CLEET stands for Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training.“We are asking CLEET to drop the credits that go for this training that feature anti-Muslim speakers. It’s concerning because the speakers are Frank Gaffey and Jerry Boykin and Claire Lopez. All of them are affiliated or are directly anti-Muslim and anti-Muslim in their speech, in the things they do and their actions,” CAIR director Adam Soltani said. The director of CLEET, Steve Emmons, said, “This is not a CLEET seminar and this is not CLEET training.”We are told the local organizer is Oklahoma State Representative (R) John Bennet. He issued a statement that included this.“In the interest of the safety of Oklahomans, we feel it is crucial to go ahead with the program on November 1. With nearly a century of combined experience as practitioners of US national security policy… We will ignore character assassination in the form of astro-turfed pressure and agitation from outside the state.”Soltani said they are concerned and feel others should be as well.“Things that are very alarming to us; we’re afraid will spill over into the training.”/149
